Bitch Slap DVD

“Bitch Slap” Invades Hollywood

The stars of “Bitch Slap” were out Friday night as the cast and crew celebrated the DVD release at Sushi Dan in West Hollywood. The “Bitch Slap” babes  - Julia Voth, America Olivo, Erin Cummings, and Zoe Bell – came out dressed to impress and excited to see their film finally land on DVD.

Every member of the cast and crew spent time doing interviews, answering fan questions on UStream, dining on sushi and signing autographs.

Erin Cummings, aka “Hel,” dressed in a signature pin-up vintage dress, loved the sexy costumes from the film. With her work in a B-movie throwback like “Bitch Slap” and this outfit, you can tell she enjoys paying homage to American pop culture of the past. Erin is currently working on “Spartacus,” with Lucy Lawless, and loving it!

Tough chick extraordinaire, Zoe Bell, worked double time for “Bitch Slap” as Rawhide and as the film’s stunt coordinator. The film was a reunion for Zoe Bell, Lucy Lawless, Kevin Sorbo and Rick Jacobson. They all worked together on the Xena and Hercules series nearly a decade ago, and have been waiting for a great opportunity to work together again. Bell was just nominated for Best Female Actor in a Web Series Drama in The Streamy Awards for her work on “Angel of Death.”  Be on the lookout for her next film – “Game of Death.”

Julia Voth, “Bitch Slap’s” illustrious Trixie, celebrated the DVD release of her first feature film. Previously she had focused on modeling, traveling the world and serving as the model for Jill Valentine in the video game Resident Evil. “Bitch Slap” is just the beginning of her film career, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.

America Olivo, aka Camero, stopped in after a performance at Upright Cabaret. Trained as an Opera Singer at Julliard, America juggles her love of music with her burgeoning acting career. America will next be in “Love Shack,” so keep your eyes peeled for this too outrageous for Sundance film about the master of porn Mo Saltzman.

Arriving at the tail end of the event, Minae Noji proved to be very different from her “Bitch Slap” character. Having previously worked in soap operas like “General Hospital” and “The Bold and the Beautiful,” she loved the change of pace that filming this one-of-a-kind B-movie provided.

Filmmakers, Rick Jacobson and Brian Peck, were also on hand to talk about the film and their love for B-movies. “Bitch Slap” was truly a work of passion – the director and producer didn’t take no for an answer when it came to budgetary concerns, cleavage shots, or explosive moments. Both filmmakers talked about their influences and inspirations in “Behind Bitch Slap: Building a Better B-Movie” which comes as an extra feature on the “Bitch Slap” DVD.

After feasting on sushi and chocolate dipped strawberries, the event attendees went to a midnight screening of the film, which was one of the last chances to see it on the big screen before the DVD is released today, March 2.
